This is my favorite shot from yesterday and I should save it but why not put it out there. ;) I have never been at the top of Pichincha when these beautiful red grasses are in bloom so it was an extra special treat for the camera. If you click to enlarge, you will better see the beautiful patchwork of the mountainside as well as the city in the distance. The day was a bit cloudy, but that was to be expected for this time of year. As one of the friends I was with said (hi Sheryl!), you can really gage how high we were based on the cloud level...pretty cool.

I really like the fertile green area in the mid-foreground. Was it a difficult journey getting to this location?
I remember seeing these different patches of color in the hills when we were there, only to discover that those patches are just some little spots that some of the natives have been using for the gardens, or their little farms. Not one little space is wasted if there is the desire and a little bit of space to utilize.

Amazing shot! Looks like you can hang from the clouds...
How did you get to the top?
I'm glad I enlarged it. What a lovely picture. The red grasses and the lush green fields are beautiful. I can see how the city rests in a bowl. So nice, Lisa.
What a beautiful scene! How on earth did you get to the top to shoot it?

Colors and the contrast of the colors are just beatiful...
Everything about this photo is gorgeous!
