A note to say that time just ran out over a week ago and I didn't get a chance to say "see you in August!" We are now in the States for the summer and so I would be cheating if I posted pictures from here, since it is certainly not Quito. Enjoy this cute picture of my son though - this week we are in the town that I grew up in and this weekend was a big festival time for all. My son really enjoyed the "cool car" display and he chose this one as his favorite to have his photo taken next to.

Anyway, see you mid-August.

I posted this on my other blog last weekend, so I apologize if you have already seen this big sky picture. :)

Another view from yesterdays shot. :)

I like this picture because of the Mother and Daughter walking through it. They're just walking through their neighborhood...if we should all be so blessed to have this as our backyard!

ooo - click to enlarge this guy. While you know I detest all things creepy crawly, I am a bit facsinated by the wolf like "picture" on this guys topside. Anyone in our midst a spider expert?

I like this funny picture as it shows two of the different kinds of bananas that you can buy here. Are you able to get these little bananas in other parts of the world? I don't actually like any type of banana so I haven't paid a whole lot of attention over the years. ;)

P.S. Happy Birthday Mom!

The last of the wooden plates that I shall show. :)

Another favorite :)

This is one of my favorite pewter things that we own from here. It's very small, but I really like it. I will show you the whole wall once I've shown each individually. ;) Getting tired of seeing our collection?

Another locally made cross. I'm not sure how this metal piece was made but I was drawn to the whole look of it. The metal is affixed to the wood underneath. Sorry it's a little blurry...I just now realized it when it's loaded here. Ho hum...
