As in many parts of the world, we have lots and lots of street entertainers. This man was in Old Quito playing his accordian the day of the Procession. He is blind, plays well, received our donation with grace and gratitude and continued to play.

He seems very industrious. I like to give when the people aren't harassing and beligerent, which many in the San Francisco area are.

Street musicians add class to the environment. An interesting experiment by Joshua Bell, a well-known musician, netting him a meagrfe $39.00 for a day's work as he disguised himself as a musician in a subway.

I agree with photowannabe and I like to give some money to those people that give me a piece of their art and I don't mind at all if they are or not good artist.
