One of the two clock towers that are a part of the National Basilica. This was an amazingly scary shot for me to get as I had to climb up a teeny iron ladder with no protection from falling on either side. My legs were literally shaking upon my decent, but the view of Quito captured here, as well as the tower itself was worth the fear! (and if you want to see the panoramic 360 degree video click here...)

I don't think I could have done what you did. Climbing up that high would have shaken me to the core. But it's clear that there have been many who have climbed up into that bell tower. I saw lots of graffiti on the walls up there.
Your city is a gorgeous city!
welcome to DP family.
looking forward to see some more of your lovely city.
Yes, it was full of grafitti, for sure! I didn't have my wits about me enough to leave my mark. ;)
Thanks for the welcome Jazzy!
Thanks for braving the iron ladder to get this super shot -- what one has to do for one's art!
I looked at the video [had to embed it in a draft blog post as my browser won't let me see it on the YouTube webpage!] and I must say I too was surprised by the amount of graffiti on the columns.
